BANDERSNATCH at 5th Street East of Mill
When you get to Bandersnatch , find an employee named Andrea and say “Oufda Oufda.” This expression tells them that I sent you. This is a Norwegian greeting for people down from Minnesota. This Microbrewery has the most real character on Mill, period. The name is a reference to a Lewis Carroll story Jabberwocky. It’s a true mom & pop operation, even a daughter can be found if you’re lucky. Their menu is all homemade, just good bar food. Nothing is overpriced. They have great fries, and onion rings all the time, and homemade pizza, Sometimes. Addi, the mom, has a red sauce that goes with her pasta or ravioli that is the best on Mill Avenue. Every thing she makes is fresh and homemade. She makes Meatloaf on Wednesdays, and it always sells out fast. Soup? You want soup? Thick, and rich, says it all. It changes daily. I have decided that they have the best wings on Mill, no Joke here.
Check the Black-Board menu when you go in for daily specials. Let’s talk about the beer. Usually there are up to 8 flavors; IPA, Milk Stout, and coffee beer that will wake you up, and kick your ass, just to name a few. There are various levels of alcohol, depending on the flavor. They have a complete bar and the Guinness is not over-priced, nice! Joe Bob even goes to the trouble to make Root Beer, for the kiddies and me. The band members from “U-2" said,” Best Guinness in America."
There is free Internet connection and use of their computer if you don’t have one, to “check your e-mail.” Message for serious lovers of beer, Sit in the barber chair and join the, “Beer In Your Face Club." It’s obvious I don’t care for this place at all! They have a big patio, with great, live music on weekends. Joe, the dad built a new outside bar. Good job Joe! Put a small bottle of liquor in you pocket on the way to a game. Jugs of their beer can be purchased to take home to St.Cloud. One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen in this community was the look of the happy customers there on St. Patty’s day. Easy parking, in their own lot!
